Guys (and gals), it’s time…

Heads up, if you don’t like opinions different than your own, you will be upset. You have been warned.

Guys and gals, it’s time…it’s time to accept that President-elect Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States.

Now, if you’re a Democrat or liberal, you’re probably quite pleased with that sentence, but just wait.

Let’s get a few things out of the way first.(1) I’m a conservative who often aligns myself with the Republican party. (2) I’m a professing and practicing Christian. (3) I voted for President Donald J. Trump in the 2020 presidential election.

Ok, well now that I’ve sufficiently riled everyone up, let’s get back to the point.

Yes, I’m a conservative and it’s time to accept the presidency of Joe Biden.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock…nope you still probably know…the 2020 election has been riddled with controversy. Much of it seems to be stemming from the Republicans, and I’m sick of it.

Has President Trump had a term full of chaos wrought by opponents? Yes

Has President Trump been well-liked? Certainly not by the loud majority (minority?)

Has President Trump been treated fairly by the media, fellow politicians, or big tech? No, No, and No

But does that mean nearly every level of government, several major independent news outlets, corporations, industries, politicians, and private Americans conspired together for the President’s downfall? Nope, and if you think so, review that paragraph again. Have you ever seen the cooperation such a task would require? In the history of humanity?

Do I like the results? Absolutely not. It sickens me that over 81,000,000 Americans (in a country that is supposedly 65% “Christian”) would support a man advocating for the staunchly anti-biblical policies of baby murder, adultery, and more. It fills me with fury to hear the same man quote Bible verses, sing hymns, and speak of his strong “faith.” It’s sickening. Yet, this man has been elected President.

Now, if you’re like most Trump supporters, Republicans, and conservatives, you’re probably still crying fraud. Could there have been fraud? Possibly, but we have a pretty tight system, and fraud committed on the scale many claim, would be unheard of, especially given that few courts can see the evidence.

Guys, it’s time…time to accept the results…President-elect Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States.

Put down the weapons fellow conservatives, consider these verses:

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God— Romans 13:1

Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. — 1 Peter 2:17

Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. — Romans 13:2

If you find it difficult to accept recent news, you’re not alone, but remember:

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. — Proverbs 19:21

For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations. — Psalm 22:28

Let’s pray for President Trump in his final 2 months. Let’s pray for president-elect Joe Biden and vice president-elect Kalama Harris. Let’s pray they find salvation and can wisely lead this nation. Let’s pray that they repent of their sinful policies and practices and turn to the forgiveness Christ offers.

We will disagree with them and hate many of their ideas and policies over their term, but we can respect them for their office, honor them as president and vice-president, and pray for them in all that we do.

This world is not our final home, let’s work and honor the one that is.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. — 1 Timothy 2:1–2

Oh, a final note… Remember #NotMyPresident? In 2016, Republicans and conservatives around the country mocked the hashtag and ridiculed its supporters. Let’s not turn into that, although many have already.
